FAQ – Rigid Cable

The choice mainly depends on the installation method and the budget.. The class 1 (massive soul) is the most economical to manufacture and offers excellent mechanical stability, but it is more difficult to handle on large sections. The class 2 (wired soul) costs slightly more to produce, but it is easier to pull into the conduits, especially on large sections or paths with several bends.

ZMS Consulting : For wiring panels and small sections, the class 1 remains the standard. As soon as the section exceeds 16-25 mm² or that the route has many bends, the class 2 significantly facilitates installation.

Non, not in the general case. Rigid cables like and H07V-U are designed for installation under conduit, chute or board, and do not have the mechanical protection necessary for direct burial. Some sheathed references like le NYY tolerate installation in a buried sheath according to local regulations, but remain to be distinguished from a cable designed specifically for direct burial.
